Once lit a small pilot will burn allowing you to turn a knob to start the fire in your fireplace. When you’re done for&###xA0;the night just turn the knob and the fire will go back to a small pilot light again. If for any reason the pilot goes out the valve will shut the gas off automatically for safety. This very unique safety pilot valve is completly turned off, no standing pilot. When you push the on button the pilot will start. Once it senses the pilot, the fire will come on. You can also adjust it Hi/Lo with the remote. When you turn it off the fire goes out as well as the pilot. It complety shuts down and turns off the gas. Note: If you choose LP your safety pilot valve will come with a LP conversion kit.
