Fireplace Requirements: These gas logs are for Natural Gas only , not Propane Gas. These come as a complete set that includes the Golden Oak Gas Logs and a G4 Natural Gas burner pan assembly that is a manual light system. Everything you need to get up and running is included. The logs are made of kiln-fired ceramic to radiate the maximum heat. There are less expensive logs on the market that are made of concrete but they do not radiate the heat like ceramic logs do. Theses logs are to be used in vented fireplaces only; meaning you have to open the fireplace damper when using them. They can be used in a zero clearance, pre-fab, or a brick fireplace as long as there is a damper that can be opened. If you don’t have a fireplace damper that you can open to vent to the chimney then you cannot use these gas logs. This particular series is a manual light system, meaning you put a match or Aim & Flame type lighter below the logs then slowly turn on the gas with the fireplace key to light them. Determine Which Size Set You Need: Measure the width just inside fireplace at widest point from firebrick to firebrick. You need to have at least 3 clearance on each side from the end of the longest log in the set to the side of the fireplace (for each side). The bottom front log is the longest log in each set. Width from 24″ to 29 3/4″ – 18 Set. Width from 30″ to 35 3/4″ – 24 Set. Width from 36″ to 41 3/4″ – 30 Set.
