The gas inlet is three inches in length with male 1/2-inch NPT pipe thread. The burner ports are drilled instead of punched, and they are staggered to allow proper flow and a more realistic flame pattern. This construction also prevents debris from building up, which can lead to the annoying whistling sound that is often found in lesser quality rings.
